ELLIS W. PEETLUK was born April 29, 1960 in Orlando, Florida. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in 1984 before going on to study law at the National Law Center at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C., obtaining his J.D. with honors in 1989. While at the National Law Center, he served as an Associate Editor of the George Washington Journal of International Law and Economics and President of the Student Trial Lawyers Association. After obtaining his J.D., he went on to obtain his LL.M. in Litigation from Emory University in 1990 before beginning his litigation practice. He is admitted in all State Courts in Florida and Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida, and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Florida Bar (1991), the Georgia Bar (1991) and the Pennsylvania Bar (1989).
He specializes in tractor-trailer litigation and criminal defense, but the firm will consider any case involving catastrophic injury. He has tried over three dozen cases including over thirty felony cases to verdict and obtained multimillion dollar results in several civil trials including a $1.5 million dollar verdict in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, a $2.5 million dollar settlement after the close of evidence in the Circuit Court of Duval County, a $5.8 million dollar settlement during trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and a $900,000 settlement on the morning of jury selection in the State Court of Cobb County.
